Markos Katsanos is an expert in technical analysis and trading systems and inventor of three new technical indicators. In showing the relationship of volume to price movement, his Finite Volume Element (FVE) and Volume Flow (VFI) Indicators have become popular tools used by traders and the code was incorporated in almost all Technical Analysis and trading software. His latest addition to the technical analysts toolbox is the Stiffness Indicator which helps identify strong growth stocks.

Originally an engineer, he holds a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering . He is also a member of the Technical Securities Analysts Association of San Francisco (TSAASF). He has traded stocks and commodities since 1990, starting with fundamental analysis and with his engineering training he quickly gravitated to technical analysis of the markets.

With more than three decades of experience in computerized analysis of stocks and futures, he has spent years refining his methods to come up with some of the most profitable strategies for choosing trades.

He is a hedge fund advisor and he specializes in mechanical systems for his clients and his own use.
Markos Katsanos is a contributing author to Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities and the author of Intermarket Trading Strategies published by J. Wiley & Sons.

He is also the author of three chapters in the Level II Chartered Market Technician’s textbook and nine chapters in the Level III textbook. Both are required for the Level II and Level III CMT exams respectively.
